This amazing environment was designed for children to learn and play. The Children’s Learning Laboratory was somewhat of a small project, but it is packed full of challenging and unique features designed to ignite the imagination of children. The space has a lighted portal and sailboat desk complete with an operable mast with cloth sail. The lighthouse leads the way for the imagination to bring the boats back to shore. The Portal was all multiple radii unsupported lightbox of finished maple. An additional feature is the independent floating round window which is incorporated into the wall. At least ten different radius forms were needed to fabricate the items. The learning laboratory will provide adventures that are limited only to a child’s imagination.
